Job Summary This is a full-time non-exempt position which reports to the Maintenance Director. This position is a key Plant Operations/Building Maintenance person responsible for maintaining the campus buildings, mechanical, electrical and life safety systems.

Responsibilities The Skilled Trades Worker maintains and installs building systems and components, including but not limited to; HVAC mechanical systems and their individual components, including a basic working knowledge of DDC controls, boilers, chillers and central plant theory and operation. Electrical systems with an operating voltage of less than 600 volts, including commercial lighting systems.

• Moves furniture, supplies and other campus assets.

• Performs work associated with in-house construction and renovation projects.

• Keeps routine records and makes routine reports.

• Assists with setup and breakdown of facilities for meetings, classes, conferences and events.

• Performs general building maintenance duties, such as repair doors and hardware, and various carpentry repairs.

Preferred Qualifications A high school degree and the ability to follow written and oral instructions. Must have extensive knowledge of building maintenance procedures and products. Must be proficient in at least two recognized skilled trades, i.e. plumbing, electrical, and mechanical, carpentry, masonry, etc.
