Responsibilities The FSU Economics Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join the Department in the Fall of 2023.

This search is focused on hiring at the Assistant Professor or advanced Assistant Professor levels. In addition to research, the successful candidate will be expected to fulfill usual teaching and service responsibilities. Standard teaching responsibilities consist of a 2/2 course load, with a standard three-course reduction for new hires. The Department also expects all faculty to perform standard service responsibilities commensurate with rank.

Qualifications Completion of all requirements for the PhD before the date of hire is expected.

The successful candidate must show evidence of the potential to produce internationally recognized research (at the Assistant level) or have a strong track record of scholarship (at the advanced Assistant level). They will also be expected to and must have expertise suitable to teach macroeconomics at the PhD level.

Preferred

This search is focused on hiring at the Assistant Professor or advanced Assistant Professor levels.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate clear potential to produce frontier research at the intersection of macroeconomics and at least one other area of Department strength such as applied economics (including structural methods), experimental / behavioral economics, health economics, and theory. Candidates with such intersectional interests are especially encouraged to apply, although applicants with expertise in macroeconomics and / or fields pertinent to teaching core PhD macroeconomics will also be considered.
