Duties and Responsibilities:

A Postdoctoral Associate position is immediately available in Prof. Weihang (Valerie) Chai’s lab at the Department of Cancer Biology, Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. We are seeking motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct original research using human cell lines and mice to study the role of genome instability and replication stress in carcinogenesis, and how to genome maintenance to improve cancer treatment. We are a highly interactive team using integrated genomics, molecular/cell biology, and in vivo approaches to advance targeted cancer therapy. Successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in a discipline related to the molecular and cellular cancer research. Applicants should have strong skills in molecular and cell biology, excellent communication skills, both orally and written, and a solid publication record. Experience with animal handling is preferred but not required. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience:

Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell or molecular biology, or other discipline related to the molecular biosciences; demonstrated expertise in working with cancer stem cells to study cancer initiation and progression; a publication record consistent with background; strong communication skills, both orally and written; research experience with tissue culture, transfection, RNAi, CRISPR/Cas9, molecular cloning, retrovirus and/lentivirus production, PCR, real-time PCR, RT-PCR, co-immunoprecipitation, western blotting, fluorescence microscopy.
