The Department of Music seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to teach courses and help develop music theory curricula at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and perform research in the area of music theory, music cognition, and/or music and health. The teaching load for this position will be the equivalent of two (2) three-credit courses per semester (Fall and Spring). Preference will be given to candidates with pedagogical expertise in a plurality of musical genres (classical, pop, Latin, etc.), supporting students in both traditional degree programs, such as music performance and music education, and those enrolled in Commercial Music degree programs, such as commercial music composition, music business, and music technology. Research specialties include but are not limited to: music theory; music cognition; music therapy; music and healing, music and neuroscience. It is the hope that this position creates research connections between FAU’s Department of Music, College of Medicine, and the Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute.

Primary responsibilities:
- Teach assigned undergraduate and graduate courses in Music Theory.
- Lead Music Theory and Aural Skills faculty in the modernization of undergraduate and graduate music theory curricula.
- Develop and conduct research partnerships with the FAU College of Medicine and Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute.
Additional responsibilities:
- Serve as mentee to the Chair or other assigned faculty member in accordance with the FAU Department of Research Postdoctoral Fellowship policy.
