The Business School has an opening for a full time University Staff (unclassified) Executive Director of Health Administration position.

Nature of Work

The Executive Director is responsible for successful leadership and operational excellence of the Health Administration Program at CU Denver Business School. Responsibilities include strategic planning, fundraising, providing input on curriculum, assisting with recruitment and placement of graduates and managing staff.

A major part of this position is developing and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders who support Health Administration students, graduates and the Health Administration Research Consortium, managing and leading a vibrant advisory board, integrating key industry trends and advancing the Health Administration Program to a level of national distinction, including creating a formal Center. The Executive Director needs to work directly with healthcare companies, executives, alumni, and students to complete a feedback loop of program enhancements and strategic additions.

    Leads and directs the Health Administration staff

Examples of Work Performed
    Assist in developing and executing short and long-term student recruitment strategies for the program. Develop and manage annual program budgets, and adhere to policies and practices relevant to Foundation accounts. Advise Health Administration students as needed. Provide leadership for curriculum innovation and management. Direct the creation of all program marketing and respond to all community inquiries. Provide leadership for the creation of a new Center for Health Administration Cultivate partnerships with industry associations, industry professionals, and companies. Regularly attend regional, national and global industry association meetings to promote and provide information regarding Health Administration programs and the Health Administration Research Consortium. Develop relationships with recruiters and hiring managers to generate fellowship and permanent employment opportunities. Work closely with the Business School Development Officer to prospect, solicit and steward financial support from companies, organizations and alumni. Oversee the selection of scholarship recipients. Lead all processes necessary for maintaining CAHME accreditation Develop revenue generating events such as continuing education classes and industry symposiums. Nurture and manage an advisory board for providing guidance, student mentoring, and financial support. Teach up to two classes per year.

The salary range (or the hiring range) for this position has been established at $110,000 to $140,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
    Master's degree At least 10 years of healthcare industry experience, including at least 5 years of which is significant healthcare leadership experience. Extensive involvement with a university as a lecturer, student mentor, or advisor. Involvement in a Board or other service that participates in philanthropic activity.

Preferred Requirements
    15 years of healthcare industry experience Terminal degree Experience performing as a full- or part-time instructor. Experience in fundraising. Experience managing an advisory board.

    Ability to provide vision, develop strategy, and motivate and manage a team. Must be sensitive to cultural, political, and geographical differences and work well with administration, faculty, and students. Must have the capability and flexibility to adjust to changing work schedule requirements. Strong network and affiliation with healthcare industry leaders and associations. Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry and academic and governmental communities.
