Position Summary

Enrollment Services is comprised Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Prospective Student Services, Out of State, Specialized and International Recruitment, and Enrollment Services Communications. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation. The primary function of the Office of the Registrar is to represent enrollment management programs and provide enrollment services to various constituents across the university in regards to the student academic record, academic class scheduling, and student advising tools. The Office of the Registrar provides service to the students through determination of eligibility for admission to the University, evaluation of academic records to determine the status of completion of degree requirements, assistance with course registration, and advising on the academic record in relation to transfer credit or CSU/SDSU policy. The Office of the Registrar has four managers, two assistant directors, and 34 staff of varying classifications across four distinct units.

Under general direction of the Associate Registrar of Campus Support, the Administrative Support Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Office of the Registrar and the Campus Support unit. The Campus Support unit provides enrollment services to various constituents in the areas of academic advising, alumni, disabled student services, extended studies offerings and procedures, fee payment issues, financial aid, remediation, residency determination, student health services, international students, testing requirements and scores, as well as the functions most germane to a Registrar's Office: registration, grades, transcripts, and probation/disqualification. The unit is charged with providing customer service and assistance in person, by mail, e-mail, telephone and other technologies to all members of the campus community and the general public.

Full-time, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

This position is physically located at the SDSU Main Campus in San Diego.

Education and Experience

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies and information to customers in person and/or over the phone.
  • Experience working in an enrollment services division or Registrar's office.
  • Experience in a university setting working with diverse student populations.
  • At least 2 years of clerical, administrative support experience in customer service

Specialized Skills
  • Proficiency using MS Office
  • Proficiency using a Student Information System (SIS).

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,505 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,505-$5,508 per month.

SDSU Vaccine Policy

In accordance with the California State University systemwide policy, students, faculty, and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical or religious exemption in order to access campus. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated for five months after their final dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or for two months after receiving the only dose of a single-dose vaccine. Afterward a COVID-19 booster is required to continue to be considered fully vaccinated.

The individual hired into this role will be required to submit their completed vaccination documentation to the university's secure online health portal prior to beginning work. Individuals with an approved medical or religious exemption on file with the university will be required to participate in SDSU's COVID-19 testing program.
