Web and Communications Manager

Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Web and Communications Manager will be responsible for maintaining the Office of Admission’s website and will serve as a liaison for regular external correspondence with prospective students. The incumbent will work closely with the Law School’s Offices of Communications and Information Technology to assist in the development of marketing materials for prospective and admitted students and web strategy.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Updates and maintains the Admissions websites for prospective students and admitted students. This includes providing updates to application materials and web content to ensure that the information is sophisticated, current, and supporting student recruitment. Monitors and develops content for weekly or bi-weekly blog regarding matters of interest to prospective and admitted students.
  2. Drafts and coordinates mailings to diverse constitutes, tailoring each mailing to the various groups, including, but not limited to, newsletters for prospective students and faculty as needed. Coordinates personalized messages to admitted students at time of admission.
  3. Serves as the liaison between the Office of Admissions and the Offices of Communications and Information Technology concerning materials for prospective and admitted students, including the Law School viewbook, admitted student handbook, and other print branding materials.
  4. Co-directs, and provides creative input in, developing promotional materials to admitted and prospective students, including recruitment outreach media (webinars, Zoom, Mailchimp, and other platforms).
  5. Assists Associate Director with both on-campus and virtual admitted student programs throughout the admissions cycle, including technical support and creation of posters, signs, and nametags, and other assistance as needed.
  6. Manages the Reserve candidates and Depositors database and assists with management of ACES2, Slate, and other databases.
  7. Assists other officers with special projects or other responsibilities as directed by the Dean or Director of Admissions.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, plus at least 3–5 years of relevant experience. Strong verbal and written skills including editorial experience is necessary, as is an understanding of web publishing and the technical concepts involved in implementing web publishing solutions. Graphic design experience, specifically with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; content management system experience, specifically with Drupal; and campaign email system experience, specifically with Mailchimp/Mandrill, are pluses. Must be able to work with diverse constituencies and support an inclusive work environment.

Consistently communicates to work group and/or supervisor ensuring that everybody is well informed. Proactively builds informal networks at own level and uses them to drive results within own work group.
  • Drive for Results – Seeks to identify specific improvements or opportunities to combine duplicate efforts to increase efficiency. Takes personal responsibility for seeing tasks and assignments through to completion. Sets high standards for work/deadlines and demonstrates a drive to deliver quality work within the allotted time.
