Trinity Washington University is seeking a dynamic educator to teach the following two sections of the 3-credit class – POLS 101: Politics, Power & You, for the Early College Academy (ECA) program in the College of Arts & Sciences for the 3-week Winter Term 2023.

POLS 101/1: MTWTHF 9:00 – 11:30 AM

POLS 101/2: MTWTHF 12:00 – 2:30 PM

These are in-person classes on Trinity’s campus. The 3-week Winter Term begins Monday, January 2 and ends Friday, January 20.

The Early College Academy is a full-time dual enrollment program offered by Trinity to select

students enrolled in the Early College Academy program at DCPS’ Coolidge Senior High

School. Through the Program, 10th grade Academy students have the opportunity to

apply for admission to the 11th and 12th grade component of the Academy, through which accepted students maintain a full-time schedule of college courses at Trinity taken for dual DCPS high school and Trinity college credit.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution and be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills. Previous undergraduate classroom experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching dual enrollment students, and who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices.

Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be needed if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Finalists will be invited for an interview and teaching demonstration.
