Responsibilities

Responsible for providing high-level compensation and classification support to the Compensation Services section of Human Resources.

  • Responsible for Electronic Personnel Action Form (ePAF) Management, which includes final approving personnel actions pre-reviewed by Compensation staff, ensuring appropriate documentation and justification are attached to position and/or personnel file, and research, test, and resolve routine systematic issues related to ePAF. Responsible for reviewing and processing single and mass supervisory changes and manual actions as requested by Compensation staff.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the University-wide and departmental organizational charts through SmartDraw software and ensuring historical charts are kept on file.
  • Process approved staff additional and one-time payments. Review appropriate queries and reports to ensure University employees receive accurate compensation.
  • Responsible for preparing internal and external market analyses for salary analyses, departmental, and compensation requests. Research and select the appropriate external benchmarks based on type of position and request.
  • Responsible for assisting with special projects within the Compensation/Classification section. Performs other related duties as required to assist in the accomplishment of responsibilities and functions within the HR department.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent and experience equal to four years.

  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Experience working independently and prioritizing assignments.
  • Demonstrated experience with organization, analysis, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with web based applications and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) or comparable software.
Preferred
  • Experience with the principles, practices, and standards of human resources administration.
  • Experience with organizational charts.
  • Experience conducting job and salary analysis.

What is a typical day in this position?

Work on the FSU HR Compensation Team is fast-paced and constantly evolving. This role is responsible for gathering information, processing compensation actions, updating organizational charts, and communicating with clients across the university. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow in the field of HR.

What to expect in the first 60 - 90 days:

This is an entry-level job and a perfect place to start your career in Human Resources. Your first few weeks will be getting up to speed on policies and procedures, gaining familiarity with our human resources information systems, as well as learning to pull queries and basic data analysis. You will also begin learning about the University’s organizational structure and networking with representatives in our departments.

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated starting salary in the low $30,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
