Responsibilities This position is within the Cash Management team of the Florida State University Controller’s Office.

The Senior Cash Management Accountant for Systems is responsible for performing professional accounting work and analysis, research, and reporting functions for the systems that support the maintenance and control of the university’s cash and investment position and bank reconciliation processes. Provides backup for daily cash position activities, earnings reporting and allocation, internal loan oversight, and banking-related functions.

This position provides support to the Assistant Controller for Cash Management & Banking. The primary responsibilities include maintaining accurate bank reconciliations, reconciling the Campus Solutions database to the Financials database, serving as backup to the University’s daily cash management function and preparing annual and other University reports.

Other duties include, but are not limited to, processing stop payment requests, check copy requests, researching wire and ACH payments and assisting with the preparation and review of annual financial statement workpapers as assigned.

Qualifications Master's degree in accounting, finance, or similar field and two years experience; or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar field and four years experience; or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to eight years.

Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Experience compiling, reviewing and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Proficiency in and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to document existing and new processes. Resume and cover letter must be uploaded with the application.

Preferred

Knowledge of the OMNI (PeopleSoft) accounting system and experience researching, producing, analyzing, and communicating complex financial data. Knowledge of related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations; ability to apply related university policies, procedures, principles, and practices. Experience in reading and writing complex queries in SQL.University Information

Anticipated Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience; Minimum Salary $52,400.
