Job Summary This position directs the college’s institutional research functions, provides academic data to the Office of Academic Affairs, prepares required federal reports, and completes external surveys.

Responsibilities
    Maintains databases, manages data, and creates reports designed to support institutional, federal and state reporting requirements. Provides reliable and relevant data and information to facilitate and support institutional strategic planning, budgeting, program assessment, and the development of institutional policy decisions. Responds to ad hoc data requests from the campus community by extracting, compiling, analyzing, and reporting data on students, instructional offerings, employee demographics, etc. Completes external surveys related to institutional data and statistics on a board range of issues. Participates in professional development related to institutional research, planning and assessment activities. Administers institutional surveys to students, employees and alumni. Serves as institutional representative to the University System of Georgia Administrative Committee on Institutional Research and Planning. Administers national student/employee surveys. Assists with data, research, and evaluation activities for grant applications and management. Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
    Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    Knowledge of institutional research, planning and assessment principles and practices. Knowledge of mathematics and statistical analysis. Knowledge of database management principles. Knowledge of research and data evaluation principles. Skill in the preparation of a variety of detailed reports. Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs. Skill in decision making and problem solving. Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public. Skill in oral and written communication.
