Job Summary:
The Referral Specialist is responsible for obtaining referrals and/orprioritization needed for scheduled tests, procedures, and surgeries. Other duties will include, but are not limited to keeping up to dateinformation and documentation in EMR system, including request of records andscanning into system, patient care coordination, tracking authorizationspending with insurances, communication with patients around referrals, tests,and procedures, etc.

Environment Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp,feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or withoutreasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Six (6) months of clinical experience
- Valid Driver License
- On Dec. 7, 2021, a federal judge temporarily blocked the implementation of the federal contractor vaccination mandate and its associated guidance. Following the injunction, Oklahoma State University has, consistent with applicable law, paused the vaccination mandate. Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:
Leadership, communication, customer service, multi-tasking, and computer skillsare necessary for this position. Knowledge of proper cash handling/paymentprocedures is necessary.
