Job Summary:
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry position will be in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This position is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. Additionally, clinical services will be provided in the OSU System. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research and service will also be necessary as well as a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position will work with existing behavioral health faculty.

Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry push, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations, sufficient to carry out specific job functions of a psychiatrist.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:
-D.O. or M.D. degree
-Eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma
-Board certification in psychiatry by the American Osteopathic Association or American Board of Medical Specialties, or, board eligibility
-A devoted interest in education
-On Dec. 7, 2021, a federal judge temporarily blocked the implementation of the federal contractor vaccination mandate and its associated guidance. Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
Knowledge of all areas related to the clinical practice of adult psychiatry. Requires strong analytical skills, advanced multi-tasking skills, advanced problem-solving skills, practice management experience, and the ability to effectively plan. Computer skills are needed to operate electronic medical records. Good communication and leadership skills are a positive. Interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with faculty, students, clients and providers.

Preferred:
-Prefer teaching experience.
