The Engineering Department in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) at Alvernia University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering to begin the 2023-2024 academic year. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a related discipline by August 2023, demonstrate the potential to create a sustainable research agenda, demonstrate the potential to educate and mentor students, and have a commitment to undergraduate education. Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will teach undergraduate-level courses, conduct original research, advise undergraduate students, and perform service at the Department, College, and University levels. Additionally, the candidate will become an integral part of expanding the undergraduate and graduate offerings of the College of STEAM over the next several years. Expertise and focus on operations research, robotics, quality engineering, manufacturing, and/or biomedical applications is preferred but not required. The College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), and notably the John R. Post School of Engineering, currently offers BS degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial Engineering, with more undergraduate and graduate programs planned in the next few years. The College of STEAM resides in the new CollegeTowne campus in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania. This 250,000 square-foot building houses engineering, business, and health science programs and is minutes from the Hilltop campus.
