Job Overview

UC Clermont College provides student-centered undergraduate education in an open-access, regional college environment. We foster diversity as well as intellectual, cultural, and social development in our community. UC Clermont College has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students and is located in Batavia, Ohio, twenty miles east of the University of Cincinnati’s downtown campus. We offer a variety of associate’s degrees, two-year technical degrees and certificates, and prepare students for transition or transfer into baccalaureate degree programs. UC Clermont’s open-access nature presents a unique opportunity for faculty with a strong commitment to provide a solid foundation for students at all levels to develop their academic skills and reach their educational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Teaching twelve (12) credit-hours for three semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer), including lectures and labs during day, and possibly evenings as needed.
  • Scheduling a minimum of four office hours per week.
  • Participating in service to the department, college, university, and community.
  • Maintaining required licensure, professional credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care.
  • Serve as the UCC academic coordinator. This involves general oversight of the program at UCC including but not limited to: advising duties, class selection, scheduling classes, handling non-clinical student issues, ensuring proper campus record keeping, and working with the consortium Program Director to ensure CoARC standards and program outcomes are being met.
  • All candidates must demonstrate/provide evidence of effective teaching and professional development and must have appropriate degrees awarded by the time of appointment.
  • Selected candidates should expect to focus on teaching respiratory care courses, but may be asked to teach other courses included in the Science and Health Department.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • RRT credential and one (1) year teaching experience as a didactic or lab instructor,.
  • Two years as a clinical instructor.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high academic standards while encouraging and supporting students with diverse backgrounds, interests, and aptitudes.
Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in use of innovative instructional technologies.
  • At least two (2) years teaching respiratory care in a clinical, didactic, or as a lab instructor.
