Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs – Robert Morris University

Robert Morris University is launching a search for a strong, experienced leader to serve as the Provost/VP for Academic Affairs to join the leadership team of President Michelle Patrick. The university invites applications and nominations from experienced and highly qualified leaders who are committed to providing excellent undergraduate and graduate education.

The Provost, reporting directly to the President, is responsible for all academic programs and the library. They will work closely with the President and Cabinet in leading all aspects of the University, and serve as a key member of the President’s Cabinet. This position also chairs the Dean’s Council, works closely with the Board of Trustees and Board Committees, and is active in external and governmental relations.

The new Provost comes to the University at a time of exciting leadership change for RMU, with the opportunity to work in partnership with a dynamic new President. The Provost will have responsibility for providing leadership for the academic aspects of the strategic planning process, linking the faculty and the academic programs to other major areas and initiatives of the University. The Provost will be a mission-driven, forward-thinking academic leader who has demonstrated experience working with faculty and across disciplinary lines. There is an opportunity to bring an entrepreneurial mindset and build a meaningful partnership between the administration and faculty, and across the campus with the Deans and leadership team.

Robert Morris University’s recent history has been marked by its transformation from a regional commuter college to a nationally recognized, comprehensive doctoral university in Pittsburgh, PA. Established in 1921 as a school of accountancy, RMU has built on its foundations in business to become a vibrant, expansive institution that is home to more than 3,700 students who are served by a broad portfolio of professionally-focused programs in the fields of Business, healthcare, Nursing, and STEM among others. RMU offers more than 60 undergraduate areas of student across four academic schools. The institution also provides 35 professionally focused graduate degree programs and certificate programs.
