Description
The Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Georgetown University invites applications for a three-year, full-time, non-tenure line, Assistant Teaching Professor. The position will involve teaching The Problem of God or Introduction to Biblical Literature, one of two core curricular courses in Theology required of all Georgetown undergraduates. Applicants from a range of disciplines will be considered, including but not limited to applicants who can offer courses in one or more of the following areas: Biblical Literature (New Testament), Early Christianity, Systematic, political, and liberation theologies, Latin American, Native American, African-American, feminist/womanist/mujerista, or ethnographic studies in and approaches to theology and religion.
Qualifications
The start date is August 2023, and a Ph.D is required by the start date. Since this is a teaching position, applications will be reviewed for evidence of teaching excellence and experience. The teaching load for the position is 3/3 during the academic year; 4 of these courses will be sections of The Problem of God or Introduction to Biblical Literature.
