Designer/Marketing Manager

Position Summary

This position is an integral member of the MSUCOM Communications team, occasional weekend and evening assignments may occur.

Responsibilities and Duties include: Design, create and produce marketing and communications content, social media and special projects for marketing, communications, recruitment and special events using design tools and marketing concepts; Collaboratively create, develop and maintain the creative vision of MSUCOM using design and marketing; Collaborate with other team members; Manage and organize a vast library of media; Collaboratively manage assets on social media sites, such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook; Provide reports and recommendations for best practices; Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement; Perform other duties as assigned.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in design, marketing, advertising, Journalism, Telecommunications, Public Relations or related field; One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in marketing communications; social media planning, implementation and analysis; composing, editing, and publication production; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of current digital best practices in design and marketing and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

At least four years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in marketing communications; social media planning, implementation and analysis; composing, editing, and publication production

Experience with search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), social media strategy and analysis; solid team contributor; confident with multi-focused assignments; ability to translate trends, technologies and metrics into accessible language; ability to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships; flexibility to be a hands-on team player adding value, supporting strategy, programs and all levels and teams; self-starter and independent worker who seeks counsel when needed; excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
