Position Summary

The Associate Director represents the Office of Admissions (OA) on Slate governance meetings while providing oversight of the entire Slate implementation. The position manages the Slate enhancement request inventory and prioritization process in order to maximize service and efficiency in admissions functions to meet institutional goals. Prepares lists and prioritization agendas for Slate Governance meetings. Oversees and coordinates CRM training resources, including Slate website(s) to ensure that training resources are current and useful. Serves as a lead contact for undergraduate Slate use in colleges, providing strategic direction on the use of Slate within undergraduate units and other campus partners. Works collaboratively with Graduate School faculty and staff who coordinate use of Slate for graduate programs and departments. Serves as lead functional coordination point for CRM integration and support with IT Services, including interfaces to the Student Information System (Campus Solutions). Helps identify and manage functional need for and implementation of future changes and enhancements. Meets periodically with Grad School, Ag Tech, other units regarding use of Slate and future enhancements. Ensures the CRM provides useful reporting and query data for authorized users.

Detailed description and percentage breakdown:

Plans and directs admissions activities, especially activities required to execute admissions and marketing functions within Office of Admissions and in support of other campus units’ admissions interactions. Prepares strategic plans for CRM and related system enhancement and use in recruitment and admissions at all levels. Oversees and directs admissions-related initiatives to leverage the CRM systems and related processes to meet applicant and stakeholder expectations while improving overall institutional service and efficiency. Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures for CRM access and use – 40%

Serves as a liaison with key university offices whose processes use the CRM or intersect with core OA admissions functions, such as the Graduate School, colleges, Institute Agricultural Technology, Office for International Students and Scholars, the Registrar’s Office and other campus partners – 10%

Oversees training and implementation related to CRM and OA processes – 10%

Utilizes CRM and institutional data, along with other demographic information, historic enrollment trends, market forecasting and prospect data in order to develop and implement marketing and recruitment plans and strategies – 10%

Serves on Office of Admissions Executive Leadership Team and provides input to overall office direction and activity; represented Executive Director in his absence as required – 10%

Serves on special admissions, scholarship and/or related campus committees – 10%

Supervises and evaluates the work of assigned support staff - 10%

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in professional admissions work at a regionally accredited institution, including experience with domestic freshman and transfer applicants; experience in a specialized admissions area; making formal presentations; and working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Significant experience in the use of CRM systems for admissions functions within a higher education setting, especially Slate; experience working in a large, research university setting; experience with project management and/or application systems project implementation projects; familiarity with business needs for both undergraduate and graduate education; excellent interpersonal skills.
