Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

The successful applicant will coordinate, conduct and publish original research that will improve the understanding of population dynamics, monitoring methods of major pecan pests for sustainable and integrated pest management based approaches in Georgia pecan production. A Ph.D. in Entomology or closely related field with a strong background of relevant course work, a record of peer reviewed scholarly achievement, and excellent communication skills is preferred. Previous experience and publications in the area of insect biological control, insect population genetics, insecticide evaluation and/or integrated pest management is also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :

Knowledge: Biology and ecology of insect pests and natural enemies.
Skills: Rearing insects, conducting entomological research in greenhouse, field and laboratory, evaluation of insecticide and biocontrol agents for pests management, DNA extraction, population genetic analysis, statistical software competencies, manuscript writing and publication.
