Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking a 1.0 FTE, non-tenure accruing Clinical Assistant Professor who is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and doctoral-prepared. The position is located at Archer Family Health Care, a nurse-led rural practice in Archer Florida with teaching responsibilities at the College of Nursing in Gainesville, FL. Additional essential responsibilities include maintaining clinical expertise including credentials appropriate to specialty and teaching responsibilities, participating in clinical scholarship, participating in faculty meetings, serving on faculty committees and providing service to the university, community and profession of nursing.

As part of UF Health, the University of Florida academic health center, the College of Nursing collaborates with five other health-related colleges and the UF Health family of hospitals, as well as clinical partners across the state, such as the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System. Archer Family Health Care is the college’s comprehensive nurse-managed health care center. Faculty members provide primary care and psychiatric/mental health services to underserved adults, children and families in Alachua County and surrounding areas. The College’s active faculty practice also offers opportunities for interdisciplinary practice in specialty areas, across sites at UF Health.

The applicant will practice at Archer Family Health Care, a nurse led rural health clinic and teach at the College of Nursing in Gainesville. The applicant must be a doctorally prepared board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Primary responsibilities of the position include providing evidenced based quality health care to patients at Archer Family Health Care. The applicant will care for patients across the lifespan, participate in electronic health record initiatives, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and precept DNP students in the clinical setting and with their capstone projects. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who has experience with rural health and who is willing to work with all populations. The position also requires participation in an on-call schedule 2 weeks per year. Other responsibilities will include teaching in didactic courses in nursing programs at the College of Nursing. Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Doctorally-prepared DNP or PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with at least 3 years experience and experience in practicing in a rural health setting. Applicants must also have experience in precepting students in their graduate clinical rotations.
