The university is organized into our College of Art, Culture, and Scientific Inquiry; College of Education; Richards College of Business; University College; School of Communication, Film, and Media; Tanner Health System School of Nursing; Honors College; Graduate School; UWG Newnan; and our UWG Douglasville Center.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a student's on campus experience. Reports to the Director of Housing and Residence Life. This position is responsible for decision-making authority in the absence of the Director. Responsible for personnel activities that relate to the student development of staff. Must maintain strong relationships with the Dean of Students Office, University Police, Counseling Center and Health Center staff and other university support services. Prepare management's discussion, analysis and recommendations for HRL. Plays a vital role in developing and interpreting policies, problem solving, crisis and emergency management, goal setting, and future planning. Manages budgets totaling $1.5 million (~$1.0 million in personnel dollars) and must possess an understanding of departmental and university budgeting processes and procedures. Responsible for 4 professionals and ~3000 bed RA and Graduate Staffing model. Functions supervised included: policy development and administration, public relations, room assignment changes, budget supervision, personnel, administrative judicial hearings, and summer residence programs. The position relies heavily on administrative skills to manage crisis intervention, duty rotation, committee tasks, human resource processes, and staff training.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Master’s degree in College Student Development or related field

Required Experience

Three years of professional experience in a Housing or Residence Life setting.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be able to work effectively and independently in a culturally diverse, fast paced, environment and possess enthusiasm for higher education and have an overall commitment to excellence in customer service.

Developed leadership and supervisory skills. Knowledge with managing discipline systems and crisis response,

Previous experience with assessment, benchmarking and learning outcomes

A strong desire for leadership effectiveness, a motivating attitude and experience in a collaborative work environment.

Must have driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of professional experience in a Housing or Residence Life setting.

Proposed Salary

$59,216 - $69,680.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Required to report to campus after hours for supervision and coordination during a crisis. This may include living within a reasonable commuting distance.
