Providence College (PC), a vibrant Catholic, Dominican, liberal arts institution located in Providence, Rhode Island, is pleased to announce the search for its next Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. PC is a community committed to academic excellence and fostering a loving, diverse, and inclusive living and learning environment.

Providence College seeks a talented, visionary leader to serve as its dean of the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). The new dean must be a unifier who understands and values the wide variety of disciplines represented in the school, and who can build strong connections within and beyond SAS. The dean will demonstrate a clear commitment to share governance, will model and advocate for justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and will create a sense of belonging for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and all community members.

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree in a discipline represented in the School of Arts and Sciences.  The successful candidate will also demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the college’s Catholic and Dominican mission and the Catholic intellectual tradition as well as demonstrate academic leadership experience in higher education or another relevant field.

Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, is a city of neighborhoods, each with a distinct character and feel. The city supports a number of government-related jobs and is home to successful businesses in a range of industries, including finance and tourism.
