Scripps Gerontology Center of Excellence: Research Assistant/Research Associate/Sr Research Associate to assist with ongoing research projects. Projects involve working with Scripps teams and external partners such as nursing homes, assisted living communities, adult day services, and community-based organizations on person-centered, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives. The mission of the Scripps Gerontology Center is to do work that makes a positive difference in the lives of aging individuals, their families and communities, and to meet the needs of aging societies. We accomplish this mission through excellence in research, education, and service. This position is approved for remote work on a hybrid basis.  Remote work is a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.  This position is funded by external grants for one year; renewable contingent upon performance and continued funding.

The position assists with outreach to participants via conducting phone/zoom and in-person interviews or assisting with focus group coordination and facilitation, maintaining project databases, assisting with social media and website updates, report writing, production of presentations to various audiences (both research and practice), and other dissemination activities. Depending upon the project both qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and descriptive analyses are needed.

Required:

Sr Research Assistant: Bachelor’s degree in gerontology or related social science field and 3+ years of related work experience.

Research Associate: Master’s degree in gerontology or related social science field.

Senior Research Associate: Master’s degree in gerontology, or related social science field and 3+ years of related work experience on research projects.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime and indefinite basis.

Consideration may be given to candidates with practice/volunteer experience in nursing homes, assisted living communities, adult day, or community-based organizations. Experience with quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI), project management experience, proficiency in Dedoose (or similar qualitative tools); and data visualizations; who desire to work in a highly collaborative environment where taking initiative, working well in teams of internal and external colleagues, and exhibiting adaptability in the face of shifting priorities are valued; demonstrate excellent oral, written and analytical skills, strong problem-solving skills,  as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
