The Director of Management Advisory Services is responsible for analyzing and proposing strategies to improve management systems using the latest developments in best practices tools and guidelines in order to meet the goals and objectives of the College. A primary ongoing responsibility will be review and analysis of programs for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and the prevention of fraud waste and abuse. The Director will function as a resource to the division in deciphering information to clarify planning, quality improvement, and assessment efforts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Independently perform financial, operational, compliance and investigative audits and reviews for College entities to include assessing risk; engagement planning; evaluation of internal controls; conducting interviews; information gathering; reviewing documentation; control testing; reporting on findings to appropriate management; and developing recommendations for improvements and assisting in their implementation. Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.

Serve as chair for a college-wide committee. Duties include organizing meetings, leading discussions, overseeing the design and implementation of procedures, and developing and conducting trainings.

Act as a project manager for projects to create or update software applications used by the BFRO. This includes: interviewing system owners to determine project goals and documenting requirements; conducting research on ways in which the goal can be accomplished; serving as a liaison between system owners, IIT programming staff and software vendors; ensuring that all project team members have the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively; coordinating meetings to discuss project progress and obstacles; assist in the development of test plans to ensure new applications and modifications to existing applications are adequately tested by users; and striving to ensure project deadlines are met

Required Qualifications:
  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Fraud Examiner
  • Auditing experience and a thorough knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, procedures and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, review and interpret data in existing databases and to aggregate complex data sets to support investigations or evaluate process efficiency.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of constituents, including all levels of management, faculty, public officials and the general public.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree
  • Higher education experience.
