The Division of Student Affairs supports the academic mission by educating students as whole persons, promoting their intellectual, moral, spiritual, and social formation; enhancing students' learning and helping to prepare them for lives of discernment, civic engagement, and professional growth; teaching personal responsibility and respect for people of all faiths, cultures, and beliefs; promoting the health and safety of students and others in the University community.

Georgetown's Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS) serves as the university's primary mental health agency for its students and campus community. Our central mission is to collaborate directly with students in overcoming difficulties that may interfere with the definition and accomplishment of their educational, personal, and career goals.

Job Overview

Georgetown University has a part-time opportunity for a Staff Clinician (50% FTE) for the current academic year at its Counseling and Psychiatric Service at Georgetown University Law Center, located at 600 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001.

Duties include the delivery of psychotherapy, counseling, outreach, and consultation services to students at the Georgetown University Law Center, and consultations to deans, faculty, staff, and parents.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Associate Director for CAPS Law School, the Staff Clinician has duties that involve direct service to students within Georgetown University Center, consultations to deans and faculty regarding student issues, and consultation to other CAPS staff and Student Health Service staff.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or a doctorate or masters in social work
  • Licensure in the District of Columbia as a social worker or psychologist (if not yet licensed, then licensure must be within 2 years of the start date)


Preferred qualifications
  • Previous college mental health experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population
