Job Summary

The student assistant position in Advancement Services will assist the Advancement Services team with day-to-day tasks and special projects. Student should have the maturity to handle sensitive information and will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and execution of Advancement events
  • Work outside of normal business hours (some evenings and weekends)
  • Driving golf carts and interacting with event guests
  • Preparing name tags
  • Assisting with event set-up and clean up
  • Cleaning, maintenance, and inventory of event props (candelabras, vases, etc.)
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for long periods of time with short breaks, and moving hand carts across campus
  • Assist with preparations for Foundation Board and Committee meetings, to include
  • Assembling print and electronic materials for meetings
  • Assisting with meeting set up and clean up
  • Assist with direct mail and other communications projects
  • Assembling internally-managed mailings
  • Assisting with content creation and design as needed
  • Assisting with social media
  • Assist with basic administrative support such as filing, shredding, and data entry
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good conduct standing for the duration of employment
  • Solid writing and editing skills
  • Maturity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during repetitive work
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
