Assistant Professor, Mathematical Sciences

Position Summary:

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Rollins College invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2023. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Math Education with a focus on Statistics or Probability. ABD candidates with a plan to finish the degree will also be considered. We are interested in applicants with a passion for both teaching and research. The teaching load for this position is three courses per semester (3/3).

Faculty are encouraged to explore the interdisciplinary nature of an innovative general education program at the College with opportunities to design new courses both within and outside the major. We are committed to inclusive, equity-based instruction.

Faculty are expected to maintain an active, high-quality research program and are encouraged to engage undergraduate students in collaborative research. We value applied, theoretical, and interdisciplinary research equally.  Our location in Central Florida provides opportunities for collaboration not only with the members of the Rollins community, but also with faculty from a variety of other academic institutions.

Minimum Qualifications and Education:

Ph.D in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Math Education with a focus on Statistics or Probability. ABD candidates with a plan to finish the degree will also be considered.
