The Department of History at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville is seeking to hire a professor of the history of Modern China (1600 to the present) at the tenure-track Assistant rank. The appointment will begin fall semester 2023.Qualifications:
Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment. Research specialties of any topic will be considered. We particularly encourage applications from scholars with thematic interests in histories of borderlands; gender; migration/diaspora; science, medicine and/or technology; or the environment. The successful candidate will be able to teach the undergraduate world history survey (1500 CE-present) and offer upper division and graduate courses that complement our current strengths.
