The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) seeks nominations, applications and expressions of interest in its search for an engaging, mission-driven academic leader to serve as the institution's next provost.

Reporting directly to the president, the provost is the chief academic officer of the university and oversees the integrity of all academic programs of the university. The next provost must be a leader with significant administrative experience in higher education and a demonstrated ability to advocate for a diverse set of academic disciplines. This individual must have a passion for UIW's mission to educate men and women who will become concerned and enlightened citizens within the global community and an understanding of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and Catholic Social Teaching. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution and an academic record suitable for appointment at the rank of full professor.

UIW is the largest Catholic university in Texas and serves approximately 10,000 students globally. The university is a Hispanic-Serving Institution with 54 percent of its students coming from Hispanic/Latino heritage. UIW offers more than 90 undergraduate majors, minors and concentrations and more than 20 graduate and doctoral programs. These include Ph.Ds. in education and vision science and doctoral degrees in pharmacy, optometry, nursing practice, physical therapy, osteopathic medicine, and business administration.
