Job Summary


The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder is currently seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in computer engineering, broadly defined. All topics within the broad area of computer engineering are encouraged to apply.

Who We Are


A successful finalist may choose their tenure home in any appropriate department within the college with the two most likely options being the Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering or the Department of Computer Science.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • A successful candidate will develop vigorous, externally funded research programs in their technical areas, engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and contribute professional service.
  • We are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. The typical effort distribution for tenure-track faculty is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service.

What We Require

  • Candidates must have earned a PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering or in a related field such as Computer Science or Electrical Engineering by the time they are appointed as a tenure-track faculty member.

  3. Statement of Research Philosophy: A statement describing your plans to develop a recognized research program based on scholarly work in your particular field, your ideas for interdisciplinary collaboration, and identifying facilities and faculty at CU that will support your research.
  4. Statement of Teaching Philosophy: A statement describing your experience and interests in teaching undergraduates and graduates, identifying facilities and faculty at CU that will support your teaching goals. This statement should address which core electrical engineering courses you can teach, particularly those relevant to computer engineering.
  5. Diversity and Inclusion Statement: A statement describing your experience and plans for inspiring diverse students to conduct research.
