Duties:

    Maintains physical access control and security systemsAssists outside contractors to facilitate the installation of equipment and conduct inspections and repairsServes as a contact for security and surveillance systemsTroubleshoots, repairs, and maintains existing access control doors, surveillance cameras, and alarmsDetermines placement of new security equipmentInstalls new and replaces existing security hardwareRepairs and services equipment and maintains equipment inventoryAssists with evaluating, diagnosing, and troubleshooting system equipment that requires servicingReports and/or addresses all system discrepancies found during inspections to lead technician/supervisor. Includes cleaning, repairing, or repositioning.Works with campus systems resource management to accurately record all needed equipment maintenance, inventory, and labor requirementsCreates or edits as-built drawings as needed.Attends continuous training to include system certification, equipment, building code education, industry standards, and best practices.Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position


Job Location
Education: High School diploma, GED, or Trade School certificate

 

Experience: 24 months of experience in general electronics

 

Skills:

  • Detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Ability to read and interpret information including complex technical drawings, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and text
  • Ability to troubleshoot a problem, develop and implement a solution
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
Preferences:
    Low voltage cable installation in multi-story buildingsComplete door access installations to include required egress appliancesTroubleshooting and repairing controlled door problems
Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.
  • Environmental: Standard office environment.
