Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the general direction of the Manager or designee, the Senior System Administration Engineer is a technical specialist role in the System Administration area supporting network operating systems in a multiple platform environment. In this role the Senior System Administration Engineer functions as a lead technical resource within the Systems Administration area.

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the Manager of Systems Engineering, provides third level support to end users
  • Develop procures, install, and maintain the company’s internal data processing hardware and software operating systems
  • Involved in the implementation and maintenance of major subsystems
  • Acknowledge and resolve user service requests utilizing the service request management system
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods
  • Develop resolutions to complex problems that require frequent use of creativity, use judgment within defined policies
  • Contribute to the development of organizational goals and objectives
  • Represent the organization as the principle customer contact
  • Perform project leadership duties
  • Provide input for recruiting and performance evaluation
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 6  years of related work experience including  project management  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification or strong knowledge in Azure AD, Exchange online, Exchange hybrid, environments
  • Certification or strong knowledge of Microsoft Identity Platform, M365 Security and Compliance
  • Skills in identity governance, MFA, conditional access, cloud app security and MDM/MAM
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies and services, including Azure IaaS and Office 365, and core Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting knowledge to enhance automation, is highly desired
  • Knowledge of and experience with PaaS databases, logic apps, application gateways, IaaS compute, network, storage, backup, and disaster recovery
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud networking, storage, and related concepts.
  • High level knowledge of network technologies Firewalls, Transit Gateways, Application Gateway, and Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
  • Knowledge of and experience with containerization platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of and experience with agile development, continuous integration, and automated testing
  • Experience working across a team tasked with design and implementation of cloud concepts and services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive and detailed documentation

May occasionally supervise other System Administration staff and project staff
