Job Summary The Language Institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology is currently accepting applications for a full-time (100%) Lecturer in English as a Second Language. The position will start in January 2023 for the remainder for the 2022-2023 academic year with an opportunity for renewal in Fall 2023. There may also be an opportunity for employment in the summer semester (2023) depending on enrollment. The position includes full benefits.

Language Institute lecturers are expected to advance the GTLI mission and goals through maintaining the program’s curricular objectives and teaching expectations. This includes: planning and implementing lessons that are engaging, relevant and challenging; supporting student engagement and success through attending or participating in student activities and providing academic advising or support; participating in service to the Language Institute and Georgia Tech, including testing and orientation responsibilities and service on program and campus committees; and engaging in ongoing professional development activities both inside and outside the Institute.

Required Qualifications
    Master’s or Ph.D. degree in linguistics (TESL) or closely-related field with course-work in applied linguistics


Preferred Qualifications
    Demonstrated excellence in teaching with a minimum of 7 years teaching experience working with matriculated international graduate students, postdocs, and visiting scholarsDemonstrated expertise in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar instruction for all levels of ESL/EFL learners, from beginners to advanced-level matriculated students and professionalsExperience in creating and maintaining learner-centered, critical thinking-oriented classroom environmentsAbility to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional teamNative-like English language proficiencyProficiency in using technology in classroom instructionExperience in developing customized curriculum for international graduate students and professionals Experience in instructional design and technology in the classroomExperience in program coordinationExperience in social media and marketing, specifically for ESL/EFL markets
