POSITION SUMMARY:

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator will provide critical support, guidance, and implementation for New York Film Academys (NYFA) diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The Coordinator supports the Cross-Campus DEI (CCDEI) and DEI Councils as well as subcommittees across the New York, Los Angeles, and South Beach campuses and assists with the streamlining of communication, programming, and vision. The Coordinator will be responsible for DEI initiative coordination, relational management, and administrative support activities.

An ideal candidate will bring passion and intention to NYFAs DEI efforts and possess the ability to moderate important conversations within the community. A strong candidate is proactive, innovative, highly motivated, and team-oriented with an ability to create buy-in within the NYFA community.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.

  • Liaise with DEI Councils across NYFA campuses to create clear communication channels
  • Coordination of programming efforts between DEI-NY, DEI-LA & DEI-South Beach.
  • Oversee and update the DEI Councils webpages and calendars
  • Serve as note-keeper for all DEI Council and CCDEI meetings
  • Develop plans to bolster membership
  • Support DEI Councils with scheduling, managing logistics, coordinating events, and other technical duties related to DEI programs and initiatives
  • Assist with tracking DEI metrics
  • Assist with communications, such as emails, newsletters, reports and presentations
  • Create End of Year compilation of DEI efforts
  • Attend DEI subcommittee meetings if needed
  • Assess DEI trainings & curricula, coordinate enhancements/updates and facilitate workshops
  • Assist the VP of DEI (once VP is instated)

  • EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:

  • Experience working in a fast paced, multi-tasking, results driven environment that values attention to detail.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, and PowerPoint (or other presentation softwares); and with Google documents.
  • Graphic design knowledge is a plus.
