Minimum Qualifications:

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience managing Windows server environments
  • Experience with networked Video Surveillance Systems, associated hardware, and familiarity with related software technologies
  • Skilled in Windows server, Powershell and Active Directory
  • 5+ years experience with networking
  • Skilled at troubleshooting switching, routing, VLAN, and firewall related issues.
  • Ability to use and understand packet capturing tools for troubleshooting
  • Experience with MSSQL environments

Position Summary:

This position primarily manages UGA campus standard Video Security Systems, applications, and servers to support UGA Police Department, University Housing, and all other University clients. Duties include server and application configuration, administration, monitoring, and maintenance. Responsibilities will also involve troubleshooting and coordinating the repair of field devices and infrastructure with UGA staff and/or contractors. Individual will be responsible for supporting campus constituents with the purchase and installation of new Video Security Systems and help maintain these systems throughout the product life cycle. This position will also provide assistance with the management of physical access control systems as available and needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

- Knowledge of Windows Server and Windows applications.
- Understand and troubleshoot networking related issues from physical to application layer.
- Ability to respond to events across campus during and after normal work hours.
- Can transport and troubleshoot equipment and assist users on-site.
- Knowledge of security systems including video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection.

- Sit and/or stand at a computer for extended periods of time.- Stand up and walk for extended periods of time.- Regularly drive around campus.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. during an average work shift.
- Stand, stoop, squat, bend, crawl, and walk up and down steps and ladders.
