Job Summary The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering is currently seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Construction Engineering and Management within the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Research areas of interest include those that fall within the broad scope of Construction Engineering and Management; preferred areas include those focused on data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), emerging technologies, and/or virtual design and construction. The opening is targeted at the level of Assistant Professor, although qualified candidates will be considered for Associate or Full Professor appointments.

Who We Are
The Construction Engineering and Management Program at CU Boulder was established 54 years ago and is recognized as one of the leading programs in the country. The Construction Engineering and Management Program involves approximately 200 undergraduate students and 25 graduate students. The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering has 55 tenured / tenure-track, non-tenure track, and research faculty members in six engineering specialty areas and four interdisciplinary areas. The Department is home to more than 550 undergraduate and 275 graduate students. The Civil Engineering program was in the top 20 undergraduate and the top 10 graduate public programs in 2022 according to U.S. News and World Report.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The successful candidate will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, contribute to professional leadership and service, develop an externally funded research program in their technical area, and cultivate and contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of our academic community. The typical effort distribution for tenure-track faculty is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service.

What We Require
  • Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or expect to have completed their Ph.D. at the time of starting the tenure-track faculty appointment, in Civil, Architectural, or Construction Engineering or a related field.
  • Candidates should have a strong record of scholarly achievement, demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, and a demonstrated commitment to engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse audiences.
