Job Summary


The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder is launching a college-wide search for multiple tenure-track faculty positions rostered among any of the six departments within the college. We anticipate hiring at the assistant professor rank, although qualified candidates will be considered at the associate and full professor levels.
This search is motivated by the four core values of the college's strategic vision: (i) accelerate our research impact to produce advances in technology and benefits to society, (ii) embrace our public education mission including expanding access and participation of diverse and underrepresented communities in engineering and computer science, (iii) increase our global engagement, and (iv) enrich our professional environment.

Who We Are


The University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is among the most research active public universities in the country and the College of Engineering and Applied Science is the second largest school or college on the CU Boulder campus. We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and academically excellent community. The diversity of our student body and our faculty has increased over the past decade. In 2021, our 5,600+ undergraduate student population included 30% who self-identified as women, 27% who self-identified as persons of color, 15% who were first-generation college students, and 14% who were international students. Our 2,500 graduate student body included 32% students who self-identified as women, 16% who self-identified as a person of color, and 29% international students. In 2022, 26% of our tenured/tenure track faculty self-identify as women and 22% self-identify as people of color. The College has hired 14 new faculty from the two previous college-wide searches.

Tenure-track faculty in the College of Engineering and Applied Science typically hold positions that include 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service effort distributions.

What We Require

  • Candidates must have an earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or expect to have completed their Ph.D. by the time of starting a tenure-track faculty appointment, which we anticipate will be August 2023, in a field appropriate to their tenure home department.
