Job Summary

This is a full-time, tenure track, 10-month academic position in the Department of Aviation Science and Management in the School of Aviation. This position involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Dependent upon degree, teaching responsibilities involve teaching undergraduate courses.

Responsibilities
    Dependent upon degree, teach various undergraduate courses (12 – 15 semester hours per semester) in areas to include, but not limited to: aircraft systems, crew resource management, flight operations, and FAR Part 141 ground school courses.Advises aviation students on academic and career aspirations. Participates in research in a variety of aviation-related subjects consistent with education and experience.Participates in college committee activities.Performs other duties assigned by the Department Chair or designee.
Required Qualifications
    Master’s Degree, preferably in Aviation, required with extensive experience in Aviation.Demonstrated ability to teach and develop a broad array of aviation training courses.
Preferred Qualifications
    Doctorate Degree in Aviation preferred. Civilian aviation experience with a background in FAR Part 121 or 135 operations preferred.Although this position does not involve flight instruction, possession of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificated Flight Instructor rating (CFI) and/or Ground Instructor certificates (AGI, IGI) is preferred.
