About the Position:

The Student Financials Coordinator is responsible for a variety of compliance related duties.  The Student Financials Coordinator will oversee the process for developing and maintaining all policies and procedures related to the University Bursar's Office and maintain policy and regulatory reference materials. The Student Financial Coordinator will process the  reconciliation of Institutional and Perkins Loans; balance ECSI loan deposits, book loan payments journal entries to the general ledger for ECSI Institutional/Perkins Loan deposits and Institutional Loan reserves and write offs. Working closely with the Tuition Calc Group, the team member will be responsible for maintaining and processing annual Financial Information Bulletin and verify the Bursar 's Office website with all relevant dates and other information, check for compliane on Title IV refunds and other duties, as assigned. 

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

Essential Functions:

    Confirm compliance of Title IV refunds and voided refunds.

    Process the reconciliation of Institutional and Perkins Loans from Accounting.

    Review Bursar website accuracy, gather additional information and update the Financial Information Bulletin with the annual changes & other documents that include Bursar Information.

    Update SSN/ITIN changes on 1098-T Form, process NRA 1098-T request forms and assist with testing on 1098-T yearly tax form.

    Review, balance and process ECSI Loan monthly journal entries for loan payments and loan cancellations.

    Confirm and update general ledger balances with Institutional loan reserves and write offs.

    Develop routine review process for all policies and procedures.  Maintain repository of current, approved policies and procedures.  Archives of past policy and procedure documents according to retention policy. 

    Review and update 1042S U.S. Withholding charges daily.

    Review, update and submit Year End Credit Balance Report and assist will all other Bursar related fiscal year end duties.

    Update 1098-T missing SSN/ITIN holds on a regular basis. Serves as backup to the Associate Director of Compliance and other duties as assigned



Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree is required.

A minimum of two (2) years of experience is required. 

Candidate with experience working in an institution of Higher Education is preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate with working experience within a student account services department in Higher Education is preferred. Candidate must demonstrate ability to understand and apply federal regulations and University policies to loan programs. Candidate with knowledge of federal regulations to loan programs and Perkins program regulations, including assignment and liquidation of loans is preferred.

Candidate with proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word is required. Candidate must demonstrate ability to learn new software. PeopleSoft experience is preferred.

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
