Job Summary

The Grant Student Activity Coordinator assists with the planning, development, and management of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and CTE (Career & Technical Education) grant student related activities. This position works with campus, faculty, staff, and part-time workers to organize related activities. This is a temporary grant-funded position. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Develops and oversees plans for student outreach and retention
•Works with Academic Advisors to recruit students for grant programs and act as liaison with area high schools
•Supports the coordination and implementation of the grant project
•Works closely with Department Chairs, Directors, and Deans to support grant implementation
•Assists with the preparation of grant related reports
•Composes support materials to enhance student recruitment and retention
•Identifies and works with constituents to establish outreach activities and transfer opportunities for students
•Monitors and documents project progress under the provisions of the grant
•Works in compliance with the program budget
•Supervises part-time grant program personnel
•Participates in relevant campus and college subcommittees
•Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

•Master’s degree in STEM, education or related discipline with one (1) year of experience in educational administration or Bachelor’s degree in STEM, education or related discipline with five (5) years of experience in educational administration
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
•Knowledge of grant management including budget, personnel management and reporting
•Knowledge in instructional design or training including design, delivery, and/or evaluation of student programs
•Knowledge in the areas of outreach, student support services, advising, and recruitment
•Proficiency in Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other specific computer programs
•Strong organizational, time management, and team-building skills
•Proven negotiation and consensus-building skills
•Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and oral)
•Ability to effectively supervise program participants
•Ability to work independently, initiate and take responsibility for submittal of all aspects of grant parameters and deliverables
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data for the purpose of reporting while maintaining confidentiality
•Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
