Position Description:
We invite you to join the UCLA Alumni Association and serve our alumni community as a resource in achieving the promise of lifelong learning. As a member of our Alumni Career Engagement team, your work will create meaningful content and engagement opportunities for Bruins to hire Bruins, develop skills, build professional confidence and share expertise. As a Director, you will be responsible for the management and growth of alumni and student career and industry engagement initiatives, networks and programs. You will receive hands-on experience and the tools to make an impact and strengthen our Bruin communities. We encourage you to be part of our dynamic, collaborative and innovative team that offers long-term opportunities for professional development as part of a robust External Affairs enterprise serving UCLA.

As the Director of Alumni Career Engagement, you will create and implement innovative and relevant professional development programs aimed at supporting the career needs of alumni at every stage of the career lifecycle. You will develop and execute initiatives that connect alumni, address alumni's professional development priorities and engage employers for the success of UCLA graduates. In collaboration with the Senior Director, you will focus on developing programs and initiatives that educate UCLA alumni on professional development tools and resources, engage alumni in the highest levels of industry and serve Bruins in all career levels. You will develop and expand community partner relationships of interest to UCLA alumni, and will monitor and respond to market trends. You will work with volunteer leaders to create community and content that enhances professional development opportunities for alumni, including working with our UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors, Industry Cabinet members, and campus partners. In this role, you will also oversee academic career partnerships and campus department collaborations with our Alumni Career Engagement team and the UCLA Alumni Association. As the main liaison with the Department of Economics, you will manage the Sharpe Fellows program, a fellowship program that serves students interested in pursuing careers in business. Your work with us will connect students and alumni in investment banking, consulting, technology and finance, create skills-building opportunities to help students secure internship opportunities, and build an ecosystem of alumni in Business to serve as mentors and experts. You will also spearhead co-curricular hands-on industry training, faculty-alumni partnerships and classroom guest lectures, and career development programs for Economics students and alumni. In addition, you will supervise staff as appropriate providing guidance and assistant to ensure the successful completion and execution of alumni and student programs.

In the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report, UCLA Medical Center was ranked best in the West, as well as one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States alongside Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.

The campus' location in Los Angeles makes excursions to local museums, theaters, or other entertainment venues relatively quick and easy.
