Position Summary:

Governors State University’s AACSB accredited College of Business seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting beginning August 2023.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate coursework in accounting, including courses in financial accounting, intermediate financial accounting, or other accounting courses as needed.

We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills, interest in non-traditional and diverse student populations, ability or interest in teaching high quality remote, hybrid, or online courses, a collegial approach to working with colleagues, interest in continuing professional development in innovative areas in the discipline, interest in developing curriculum, evidence or a potential for distinguished scholarship consistent with tenure-track and AACSB expectations for Scholarly Academic faculty, and evidence or potential for substantive professional and university service.

The center utilizes GSU faculty expertise and its existing partners in both public and private sectors, the SCICBI provides faculty consulting and employee training to businesses in the supply chain and logistics sector, certificate training for employees in these companies, and also co-working space and mentorship opportunities to startups and entrepreneurs in the supply chain and related sectors.

Minimum Qualifications:

-ABD in Accounting, Finance or a related field
-Meets AACSB qualifications for Scholarly Academic (SA) or Practice Academic (PA)
-Experience teaching accounting courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

-PhD in Accounting or a related field
-Teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
-Experience teaching online.
-Professional certifications or work experience
