Job Description:


This position is responsible for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of grant and foundation gifts for the College, including all associated meetings, activities, and proposals. This individual will work closely with all elements of the Dean leadership, academic and co-curricular communities to develop individually tailored strategies targeted to each prospect. Prospects will include private foundations and local/state/federal grants.


Job Duties:


  • Works closely, under the supervision of the Vice President and with college leadership, to develop and maintain a comprehensive prospect listing of all potential grant and foundation donors.
  • Manages communication and outreach strategies to grant and foundation prospects.
  • Develops individual prospect strategies and solicits grants and foundations.
  • Works with internal colleagues to create clear and compelling funding proposals. With the VP, writes, prepares and submits grant proposals.
  • Travels to meet with foundations on behalf of the College.
  • Enhances strategic relationships with foundations to secure funding in support of College priorities.
  • Oversees the management and reporting requirements of acquired grants.
  • Participates in campus-wide committees as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline required.
  • A minimum of five years of grant/foundation gift experience, preference for experience within higher education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have superior writing skills with careful attention to every minor detail in all proposals, correspondence, and communications.
  • Demonstrates proven ability to achieve strong and trusting relationships with campus colleagues and key fundraising prospects.
  • Must have outstanding organizational skills and the ability to efficiently utilize time and resources in coordinating prospect visits.
  • Must ensure ethical and principle-based standards and expectations.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office, and fundraising software, Raisers Edge preferred.
  • Must participate in the College mission.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster required.
