Hiring Range: $50,287 - $86,403 Annually plus full state benefits

Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking and many other activities.

Germanna Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as an Instructor of Nursing. The successful candidate will teach in all areas in nursing, including lab, class and clinical, including the various nursing programs as assigned. In addition to primary teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate must be willing to assume leadership in departmental and college-wide committees, curriculum development, assessment of student learning and course/program effectiveness, academic support services including advising students and student recruitment; as well as student and community engagement.The College desires applicants with a commitment to the community college mission; teaching, learning, and student success; integration of learning outcomes assessment into course development and teaching; use of current and emerging technologies to enhance instruction; and integration of diversity and global perspectives in instruction. Finalists will be invited to present a short sample lesson.

It is our expectation that nursing faculty will meet all clinical partner requirements, including partner required vaccinations.

This is a nine-month faculty position. Salary will commensurate with rank and credentials plus State benefits. Appointment date: September 15, 2022. Position will be filled contingent upon available funding.

Special Assignments:

KSA's/Required Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Some teaching experience





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s of Science in Nursing with concentration in Nursing Education or Doctorate in Nursing
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, use of instructional technology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong clinical nursing skills
  • Community college teaching experience
  • Experience teaching with a Concept-based Nursing curriculum
  • Demonstrated student learning in courses taught
