The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto invites applications from interested, qualified pediatric interventional radiologists for faculty full-time positions (one to two positions in the Division of Vascular Interventional Radiology/Image Guided Therapy, Department of Diagnostic Imaging). The ideal candidate must have an M.D or equivalent, be board-certified, and have fellowship and clinical experience in body Pediatric Interventional Radiology and Vascular Anomalies. The candidate should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). A solid research background in Pediatric Interventional Radiology is mandatory. Training in research methodology at the level of a Master’s degree / Ph. D level is preferred. Experience as a Staff Pediatric Interventional Radiologist of at least 3 years is preferred. Additional experience with image-guided tumor ablation techniques, hepato-biliary interventions in liver transplants and MR guided Interventions is preferred. The candidate should be collaborative, an excellent inter & intra-disciplinary team player, and should have very high professional values. All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2023.
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is a major pediatric referral centre and a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, and is a world-renowned leader in health care, research, and teaching. SickKids is a tertiary care facility, committed to providing excellence in care with a highly qualified, interdisciplinary, hospital-based medical staff. The Hospital has more than 300 beds and performs in excess of 6,000 interventional procedures (vascular and nonvascular) on over 5,000 patients per year.
The Pediatric Vascular Interventional Radiology division currently consists of 5 full-time pediatric body interventional radiologists, 1 full-time pediatric interventional neuro-radiologist, and 1 part-time interventional neuro-radiologist. The Division works collaboratively and closely with surgeons and other disciplines as part of the Centre of Image Guided Care. The Image Guided Therapy Centre has recently consisted of 5 modern image-guided suites, including bi-plane angiography and 3T Interventional/ Intra-operative MRI.
Faculty appointment at the University of Toronto (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) and salary range of approximately $350,000 to $500,000 will be made commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and faculty appointment. Additional incentive is provided for extended and on-call hours of work related to complex interventional procedures that the candidate will have to be involved in.
