General Description: 

In the Office of the Registrar, Registration and Compliance, the primary responsibility of the Enrollment Services Specialist position is to manage student registration adjustment requests submitted by faculty and the academic departments. In addition, the Enrollment Services Specialist troubleshoots registration inquiries, monitors, and provides technical support for the Banner Workflow system, interprets policy, and ensures compliance with applicable federal (e.g., FERPA), state, and university rules and regulations.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage all administrative course registration adjustment requests (Adds/Drops/Withdrawals) through Banner and Banner Workflow submitted by faculty and the academic departments, which includes obtaining appropriate approvals for course restrictions and account holds and notifying students, faculty, and staff upon completing requests.
  • Work closely with the technical development staff to ensure the end-to-end solution meets the business requirements for all automated processes.
  • Identify performance improvements in existing integrated student record data systems, recommend enhancements and test changes for quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation to describe application development, logic, and coding.
  • Investigate issues under tight time constraints and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Design training materials and provide training to faculty and academic and administrative staff regarding registration-related functions and processes.


Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 

  • Working knowledge of registrar-related functions, integrated student record data systems, such as Banner and Banner Workflow, and laws governing student records.
  • Have a collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task; pay attention to detail; and exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Argos, SQL, and video editing software.

The Georgia State Panthers are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and compete in 16 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and volleyball. The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.

The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
