Overview

The Administrative Specialist Graduate School Coordinates administrative support for project management. Ensures timely and cost effective completion of administrative details. Ensures that practices and procedures used by subordinates are consistent with established procedures. Under minimal supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures, provides administrative services for departments. Anticipates, initiates, coordinates and follows up on administrative activities and other special projects. May have the functional responsibility for providing direction to other administrative staff. The scope and complexity of this position is such that the Administrative Specialist is regularly dealing with diverse matters which require extensive knowledge of the department's area of responsibility. Possesses the ability to handle sensitive situations in a mature and confidential manner.
Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years of administrative support experience required.
  • Experience must involve e-mail, word processing and typing correspondence and reports, data entry, budgeting and bookkeeping, preparing presentations and filing.
  • Grants and/or database experience preferred.
