Chapman University’s Institute for the Study of Religion, Economics, and Society (IRES) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the economics of religion to start Fall 2023 and continue for up to two years. We are seeking candidates whose research interests/projects will be enhanced through the work of the IRES. Eligible candidates for the postdoctoral position will have completed their Ph.D. between August 1, 2020 and August 1, 2023. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of the applicant's previous accomplishments, the promise of the proposed research project, and the likelihood that the project will be enhanced by being carried out at IRES.

We aim to support highly promising young scholars doing research that links the study of religion to economics, political science, or sociology. Candidates selected will conduct research in at least one of these fields while at Chapman. They will also be expected to attend seminars, give at least one talk on their research, and assist with other IRES activities.
