Scope of Job:
To perform advanced program administration, development and coordination in a provider-to-provider format for CPAN and PeriPan. Responsible for all phases of program development and coordination of program activities to serve the 13 county are/region.

Description of Duties:
• Administers, coordinates and manages activities involved in assigned programs: CPAN & PeriPan to meet required metrics within all regions.
• Develops and implements standards for attainment of program goals and objectives on a continuous basis for all regions and areas within 13 counties for both CPAN and PeriPan.
• Maintains frequent interaction with TCMHCC leadership, Department Chair, University departments, special groups and external agencies in administering the program as it pertains to program success.
• Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities and supports positive collaboration with all involved for successful implementation of programs within the 13 county area.
• Coordinates staff training and development for relative CPAN and PeriPan staff as needed.
• Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance with CPAN and PeriPan as required by UTRGV Policy.
• Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedures written material and documentation for CPAN and PeriPan team.
• Conducts marketing assessment for assigned area for 13 county area with strong knowledge in health care industry to expand services into respective 13 counties in both CPAN and PeriPan. Familiar with health care providers such as: PCPs, NP and PA.
• Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities collaboratively with Psychiatry Department Administrator.
• Provide financial management input of all program activities as it pertains to CPAN and PeriPan metric with Department Administrator.
• Determines work priorities to ensure metric attainment for CPAN and PeriPan team. Collaboratively working with Director and Psychiatry leadership.
• Works on special projects as assigned.
• Attends professional development seminars as needed to assist with TCMHCC or Psychiatry department.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:
General direction from the assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Supervises assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Arts Degree or a degree in a related field from an accredited University.

Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited University.

Licenses/Certifications:
None.

Required Experience:
• Five (5) years of experience performing closely related duties, including program planning/coordination or related experience in the appropriate mental health field of the program, or • Three (3) years of the required experience with a Master’s degree, or • Seven (7) years of the required experience with an Associate Degree or 60 hours of College Credit, or • Nine (9) years of the required experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in contract negotiations.

Equipment:
Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Usual office environment. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required. Some travel may be required.

Other:
Ability to interact in a professional manner with faculty, staff, students and the public. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Independent decision making and problem solving ability.

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley was created by the Texas Legislature in 2013 in a historic move that brings together the resources and assets of UT Brownsville and UT Pan American and, for the first time, makes it possible for residents of the Rio Grande Valley to benefit from the Permanent University Fund—a public endowment contributing support to the University of Texas System and the Texas A&M University System.

 

Our new university will also be home to a School of Medicine and will transform Texas and the nation by becoming a leader in student success, teaching, research, and health care. UTRGV will enroll its first class in the fall of 2015, and the School of Medicine will open in 2016.

 

UT Brownsville and UT Pan American

The shared history of The University of Texas Pan American and The University of Texas at Brownsville goes back to 1927, when Edinburg College was founded. In 1973, Pan American opened a second campus in Brownsville, which later became an independent institution of The University of Texas System in 1991. Over the years, the missions and the identities of these great institutions have continually evolved to serve the communities of the Rio Grande Valley.

Now, the evolution and connection between these two institutions is coming full circle as UT Brownsville and UT Pan American are being established as a single, new university and medical school, with a single, new identity—The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
